On Saturday September 12, 2015 I set out to spend a few days on the road to fill a life long goal of touring on a bicycle. I road from Calhoun, KY to Lebanon Ohio north of Cincinnati largely following the Ramblin River Tour route!
Training for the event this summer resulted in a major crash for this 53 year old. My 100 mile ride that day ended at mile 72 when a dog entered my path. McLean County Volunteer Emergency First Responders and members of the paid EMS responded to my 911 call. They picked me up off the road then got my bike home while the Ambulance took me to the ER. 13 stitches in my face and the eye closing shiner was the easy part. I began rehab on a repeat injury of a rotatory cuff with only 6 weeks to go. My bucket list dream of touring would not be stopped. Not this time. NO! NO! No - Not this time..... Though I regret not 100% I largely overcame the adversity to honor my mother, my dad, my Grandmother Robertson, my Aunt Dalcie and YOUR LOVED ONES TOO that suffered or are suffering now from Alzheimer's or dementia. This Ride is for them. This Ride is for you. This is the story of My Memory Ride 2015. |
These grand-kids are the memories I don't want to loose.
More important I don't want them them to loose their memories one day either.
